Michael Holcomb Stewart, age 72 of Cleveland TN passed away suddenly, November
9, 2025, in Perry, GA.
Mike worked with the public from the age of 13 working at the gas station across the
street from his home, later at Creative Custom Works for over 25 years. He retired from
the Maintenance Department of the Church of God of Prophecy in 2020 and served in
the Army National Guards from 1971 until 1973 when he received a medical discharge.
Mike loved life and enjoyed hunting with his nephews and friends. He enjoyed being
outdoors and especially camping with our special camping buddies. You may have
been a stranger when you met him, but you would be friends when you parted.
Mike attended Spring Place Church of God of Prophecy and was an active member in
good standing in the Masonic Lodge, Charleston No. 484, Charleston, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Jerewanda (Gene) Mullinax, Joe
Stewart, father. In-laws, Robert (Mae) Caylor. Maternal and paternal grandparents,
brothers-in-law Richard Daffron and Nathaniel Watson, stepsister Wanda Kugel,
numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Diann Stewart of Cleveland, sister Sheryn (Karl)
Bischofberger of Ocoee, stepsister Pamela Mullinax of Cleveland, one aunt Jennifer
Holcomb of Chattanooga, TN, brothers-in-law Bill Daffron (Michael Dykla) of Boynton
Beach, FL, Jerry (Jane) Daffron of Chicago, IL, sisters-in-law, Phyllis Watson of
Cleveland and Linda Daffron of Calhoun, TN. Nephews Tony Watson, Tim (Tonia)
Watson, Tracy (Erin) Watson all of Cleveland, Mick (Angela) Vaughn of Kingston, TN,
Shane Daffron of Chicago, IL. Great-nephews, Kyle (Ashley) Vaughn of Jacksonville,
FL, Nate, Nick, and Beau Watson all of Cleveland, one great niece LeeLa (Josh) Bodel
and great-great niece Meredith Bodel all of Alexandria, VA and great-great-nephew
Jude Vaughn of Jacksonville, FL.
A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
Companion Funeral Home are honored is assisting the Stewart family with all of the arrangements.
