Michael Gerard Stika, age 68 of Madison, Indiana, and son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Hruska) Stika, Sr., died March 8, 2023 at the Kindred Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
A Memorial Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, Iowa with Rev. Nick Radloff and Deacon Jim Zajicek presiding. Inurnment will follow at the church cemetery. A time of visitation and fellowship will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
There will be a celebration luncheon at the home of Ronald and Elaine Stika, 3424 285th Street in Cresco, Iowa following the graveside. Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with local arrangements. Online condolences for the Stika family may be left at www.hugebackfuneralhome.com The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Holy Trinity Parish in Protivin, IA or the Knights of Columbus Seminarian Fund.
Michael Gerard Stika, son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Hruska) Stika, Sr., was born February 7, 1955, in Cresco, Iowa. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School and Crestwood High School in Cresco, IA. He was united in matrimony to the former Yvonne Todd on July 31, 2015 in Fishers, Indiana. He retired from farming. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus in Iowa, and member of Holy Spirit Trinity Catholic Church and Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking, rescuing vintage tools, and gardening. Mr. Stika passed away on March 8, 2023 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
His life will be cherished by his wife, Yvonne of 7 years of Madison; his sisters: Mary Cheville, of Ames, IA, Shirley (Stewart) Nelson, of Ames, IA, Geralyn (Fred) Smith, of Waukon, IA; his brothers: Robert (Colleen) Stika, Jr., of Cresco, IA, Ron (Elaine) Stika, of Cresco, IA, and his sister-in-law, Mary Jane Stika.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Denise Stika, Gerald Stika, Dale Stika, and Helen Watson.
