July 4, 1957 - February 17, 2026
Bishop Richard F. Stika, D.D., Bishop Emeritus of Knoxville, TN, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Beloved son of the late Frank and Helen Stika; dearest brother of Robert Stika and the late Lawrence Stika; beloved spiritual son of Cardinal Justin Rigali; our dear uncle, great-uncle, great-great uncle, cousin, friend and brother in priestly life.
Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Monday, March 2, 4 to 7 p.m. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Annunziata Catholic Church, 9305 Clayton Rd, St. Louis, MO 63124, on Tuesday, March 3, 10 a.m. Funeral Mass and burial will be held at the Cathedral of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on March 10, 12 p.m. in Knoxville, TN. Masses preferred.

My condolences go to Bishop Rick's family, friends and parishioners. I met him at the St. Louis police's Citizens Academy when he was a young priest in the St. Louis Archdiocese. He was friendly and eager to learn, so I wasn't surprised to see him rise in the hierarchy. I enjoyed running into him at various local events over the years. Wonderful man.

Bishop Stika was an incredible man of faith for me going up in the Mary Queen of Peace Parrish. He' celebrated my 1st Reconciliation, 1st Communion, Confirmation Sponsor, and celebrated my wedding . Connecting me with Pope John Paul II will always be a cherished memory. Please look over our delicate world and know you will always have a special place in the hearts of the Fitzpatrick family. Rest in peace.
