Michael was born January 2, 1949, in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Virgil David and Nadine Pearl Spivey Strickland. He obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology and worked for 7 years at the Eufaula Adolescent Center, where he was loved by everyone. Later, he worked as a Hearing Aide Specialist for Miracle Ear and also as a Wildlife Manager for Pa-Ko Plantation. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, arrowhead hunting, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Michael was a member of Dawn Bible Students.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Ann Caraway Strickland; son, Russell David Strickland (Lauren) of Pike Road, Alabama; daughter, Tonya Simpson (Christopher) of Louisville, Alabama; brother, Rickey Neal Strickland of Louisville, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Sam Strickland, Jack Strickland, Madison Voncino, Caroline Voncino, Dylan Simpson, Anna-Kate Simpson, Alexander Simpson, and Sadie Ray Simpson.
