Michael H. Struble

Michael Struble, age 73 of Wantage, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Morristown Medical Center.

Born in Sussex to the late Harold and Janet (Runyon) Struble, Michael was a lifelong resident of Sussex and Wantage. Following his graduation from High Point High School, Michael earned his bachelor's degree in history and geography from Trenton State University.

Michael was a longtime employee of Petro Mechanics in Lafayette, and was a member of the Wantage United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer for many years. Dedicated to his community, Michael coached youth football and baseball, and umpired for firemen's leagues. He especially loved coaching for American Legion baseball. Though muscular dystrophy left him wheelchair-bound for almost half his life, he never let that stop him from coaching and keeping score. He also enjoyed Jeopardy, Wordle, poker, fantasy baseball, and the Third Base Pub NASCAR Pools. He was an overall trivia champion. Above all, Michael adored his family and loved spending time with friends, going to the beach, and being outside on sunny days.

Predeceased by his parents, and sisters Nancy Compton, Peggy Jareck, and Joanne Pecoriello, Michael is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne (Stretch) Struble; daughter Megan Anello Struble and her husband Gabe Anello; sister Barbara Richards; and siblings-in-law Kevin Jareck, Dan and Rita Pecoriello, Carol and John Wilson, Elaine and Jim Green, Thomas and Nancy Stretch, and Bob and Debbie Stretch; as well as his many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Michael will be held on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026, from 4-8PM at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex, NJ 07461. The funeral will be on Thursday, February 12th, 11AM at the funeral home. Burial in the Beemerville Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Michael Struble Perseverance Scholarship (45 Sunset Inn Road, Lafayette, NJ 07848).
