Michael E. Sullivan

Michael "John L " Sullivan, 84 of Sea Girt, passed away on Sunday, Sept 26, 2021, at Jersey Shore University Hospital. He grew up in Brooklyn, NY and loved to go to Ebbets Field and watch the Brooklyn Dodgers play. He graduated from Brooklyn Prep HS in 1955. He had a great love for Brooklyn Prep and loved to share stories about the school.
He played for the Washington Generals against the Harlem Globetrotters from 1955 to 1956. He then started his career at ABC/Capital Cities/Disney where he worked for 39 years. He ended his career as Director of Finance. His office for many years was right next to Howard Cosell's office. Through Howard he met Frank Gifford, OJ Simpson, Muhammad Ali among others. He attended night school at NYIT and earned a BS degree.
He was predeceased by his wife Kathleen O'Neil Sullivan, his parents Eugene and Margaret Sullivan, and a sister Maureen Sullivan Kelly. He is survived by his daughter Megan Sullivan of Sea Girt, a son Sean Sullivan of Brick. He is also survived by his niece Tara Kelly of San Diego, CA and Tim Kelly of Long Beach, NY.
