Michael Leon Swanner, 73, of Woodbine, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Baptist Health in Corbin. He was born in Arjay, Kentucky on September 29, 1952, and was the son of the late Walter E. and Sarah Ada Charles Swanner. Mike served his country in the United States Army and then worked as a Commercial Plumber for Davis & Plomin Mechanical of Lexington, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Swanner; son, Donnie Swanner; sisters, Bonnie Swanner and Jewell Baker; and brothers, Doyle Swanner, Lonnie Swanner, James Swanner, and Jerry Swanner.
Mike is survived by his wife, Kathy Ward Swanner; sons, Ronnie Swanner and wife, Tina, and Justin Swanner and wife, Katie; daughter-in-law, Elisha Swanner; grandchildren, Elizabeth Kosinski and husband, Tim, Victoria Swanner and husband, Jacob Lindsey, Wesley Swanner, Michael Swanner, Summer Swanner, Isabel and Smantha; great-grandchildren, Emersyn Lindsey and Lainey Kosinski; sisters, Bobbie Gambrel, Carol Henning, Diane Cox, and Barbara Evans; brother, Earl Dean Swanner; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Wagner and nephew, Chad Sanders officiating. Military honors will follow the funeral presented by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Burial will follow in the Big Jim Cemetery with Wayne Spurlock, Noah Justice, Austin King, Jimmy Ballard, Sterling McDonald, Jeremiah Moore and Caden Buttree serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Swanner family.
