Michael J. "Mike" Sweeney

Michael J. Sweeney, 69, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at The Courville Rehabilitation at Nashua, NH. He was the beloved husband of Deborah M. (Lavigne) Sweeney with whom he enjoyed 43 years of marriage.
Michael was born in Lowell on October 24, 1955, and was the son of the late Charles W. and Yvette R. (Germain) Sweeney. He previously worked at MIT/Lincoln Labs as a machinist and operational technician and absolutely loved his job and coworkers.
Michael enjoyed many hobbies prior to his illness, including Bass fishing, hunting, riding his Harley, playing cribbage and cards, spending time with his family and friends, and he especially loved being a Pepere to his grandsons.
He will be forever remembered by his beloved wife Deborah M. Sweeney of Pelham, NH, his son, Chad M. Sweeney and wife Courtney, their two children, Sullivan Sweeney, and Colin Sweeney, all of Chelmsford, two sisters, Paula J. Sweeney of Merrimack, NH, and Doreen A. Burk of Dracut, two brothers, Richard A. Sweeney and husband Vidal Arroyave of Miami, FL, David S. Sweeney and his wife Lily of Manchester, NH, his loving cat "Bell," as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.
Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT. Funeral Services and Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Michael's memory to any animal shelter of your choosing.
