Michael D. "Mike" Tackitt, 59, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 5:00 am May 6, 2025 at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon. He was born August 20, 1965 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to Buddie and Lillie Tackitt.
Michael is survived by his mother, Lillie Tackitt; daughter, Alizabeth Willis and husband, Brody of Mount Vernon; granddaughters, Penelope Willis and Lillian Tackitt; siblings, Robyn Morgan, Susan Arnett, Steve Tackitt, and Ann Tackitt; several nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Buddie Tackitt; and siblings, Debbie, Sammi, and Amy.
Mike enjoyed doing yard work, riding his motorcycle, and loved watching Saint Louis Cardinals baseball. He worked as a cook in several restaurants. Mike was a 'clean freak,' a quiet person, and had a quirky sense of humor. Mike will be missed by all who knew and cared for him.
Per his wishes, Mike will be cremated and a private family gathering will be held.
