Michael Tallon

Michael "Mike" Tallon, a resident of Dallas, Oregon passed away on Friday, February 6th at Salem Hospital. Mike was born on December 28,1946, in Dallas, Oregon, the son of Tommy and Irene Tallon. Mike graduated from Dallas High School in 1965. Mike married Sherri Pitardi while he was on leave from the U. S. Navy on July 20, 1968, at St. Philip Catholic Church in Dallas. He served in Vietnam as a radio operator and served three tours. He was assigned to river patrols on the Mekong Delta. Mike was stationed in San Diego, and they lived there for a short time. Mike attended Clatsop Community College where he received a degree in law enforcement. While at college he was a sleeper at the Astoria Fire Department. They settled in Dallas after Mike completed his military service in 1972. He then worked for Dallas Ambulance Service for several years with his father. Mike learned the trade of meat cutting from his father Tommy. Mike worked at Fairview Market in Dallas as a meat cutter and later worked at the Sheridan grocery store for many years until his retirement. Mike then worked at the Dallas Golf Course and managed there for 15 years. Mike enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting with family and friends. Mike enjoyed his years with the D.O.G.G. motorcycle group in Dallas. Mike and Sherri went on many rides on his Harley Softail. Mike and Sherri looked forward to their annual trips to Maui. They had made over twelve trips. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family in Maui. It was a very special trip that they all enjoyed together. Mike loved spending time with his grandchildren and going to their games. He also loved spending time with his great grandson. Mike liked spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his, Sons, Tony and Patrick (Jeni) Tallon, grandchildren, Katelyn, John (Kimberly), Leo and great grandson, Noah, Nephews and Nieces, Scott (Dyan) Tallon, Molly (Eric) Richey, Shelly Miller, Jill (Kent) Cox. He was preceded in death by his wife Sherri, parents Tommy and Irene Tallon, brother, Rick Tallon.

A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held on Saturday, March 7th at 1:00 PM at Bollman's Tribute Center in Dallas. Interment will be in Dallas Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Christmas Cheer in Mike's memory.
