Getting to know Mike at the VA was the best! He was so sweet. And funny always let you know he appreciated you . We had so many laughs and with a couple of the other guys they were a blessing to know definitely made my life a lot better for knowing him! You will be missed my friend!

Oh Mike . He was my absolute favorite. He's the only person I've ever allowed to call me Kathy. I loved his record player. I loved to hear him talk about his family. He was a proud Marine veteran. He had this blue Nike hoodie that I always told him I really liked and it looked good on him. On my last day at VA he tried to give that hoodie to me. I absolutely would not take it from him. No matter how much he told me he wanted me to have it. Told him it looked so good on him nobody else could pull it off. I didn't know until after I left on my last day that he stuck it in my bag when I wasn't looking. I've had it hanging in my closet ever since. I'm so thankful for that. Although it could have got me in trouble I'm sure if I would have known he did it before I left. I I know he is running around up there... free from pain and illness.
