Michael Thomas, 92, of Louisville, OH, passed away December 12, 2025.
Mike was born July 7, 1933, in Canton, OH to the late Steve and Louise Thomas. He was raised in Louisville and was a 1951 graduate of Louisville High School. Mike graduated from Kent State University in 1958 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He later went on to serve in the United States Army, where he played the trumpet for the 75th Army Band.
For 17 years, Mike was married to Ann Thomas (Godagidis), the mother of their two sons, Steven (Susan) Thomas and Brian (Ann M) Thomas. In the late ‘70s, Mike met his partner of 25+ years, the late Harriett Beans. Together, they enjoyed traveling and dancing.
Mike was the long-time Treasurer for the Canton Ex-Newsboys and worked as an accountant for Stark Tax Services. Mike enjoyed playing cards daily with his friends at the local coffee house.
In addition to his children, Mike is survived by granddaughter, Sabrina (Adam) Hall, and their two sons, Tristan and Ezra; and grandson, Nicholas (Ashley) Thomas – Bock, and their son, Henry.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
Burial with full military honors will take place in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10:45 AM. Procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home at 9:15 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike’s name to the Canton Ex-Newsboys Association, P.O. Box 20124, Canton, OH 44701.
