Michael Thomas Zeman Jr., age 81, of DeLand, Florida, formerly f Canonsburg, passed away on January 4, 2026, in DeLand. Michael was born on June 25, 1944, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Michael and Genevieve Zeman. He was a proud graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, Class of 1962. In his early adulthood, Michael honorably served his country in the United States military and later furthered his education by earning an associate degree in computer programming. In 1973, Michael married the love of his life, Roxie Elaine (Johnston) Zeman. They shared 52 devoted years of marriage before Roxie’s passing on May 8, 2025. Fourteen years ago, Michael relocated to DeLand, Florida, where he made his home and enjoyed his retirement. Michael had a lifelong love of sports and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. As a young man, he excelled in golf, earning awards and recognition for his skill on the course. He also enjoyed gaming and puzzles, activities that reflected his sharp mind and love of problem-solving. Michael deeply adored his pets, each of whom held a special place in his heart. A devoted father and grandfather, Michael is survived by his children, Michelle (David) Cutright of DeLeon Springs, Florida, and Eric (Amanda) Zeman of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. He leaves behind his cherished granddaughters, Carmen Tyler of Deltona, Florida, Aimie Tyler of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Cheyenne Snyder of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, as well as his great-grandchild, Gavin Michael Staten of DeLeon Springs, Florida. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Roxie Elaine Zeman, and his sister, Dorothy Harrison. Michael will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of sports and games, and the quiet joy he found in the simple pleasures of life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Services and interment, with full military honors by the VFW Post 191 of Canonsburg will be accorded at 10 am Wednesday January 21, 2026, in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
