Rev. Michael Ulmer

Rev. Michael Ulmer was born January 17, 1949, and passed away February 18, 2026, at the age of 77.
Rev. Michael Ulmer faithfully served as a minister for many years, dedicating his life to preaching the Gospel, shepherding his congregation, and loving people well. He believed deeply in the power of prayer, the strength of family, and the importance of living out one's faith daily. Whether from the pulpit or across a kitchen table, he shared wisdom, compassion, and steady encouragement. His ministry was not just his calling-it was his life's joy. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with his kindness, guidance, and unwavering faith.
He is survived by his wife, Kathie Ulmer; daughters, Lycia Schreckhise and husband Brad, and Monica McNiel and husband Carey; grandchildren, Daniel Schreckhise and wife Kalyn, Emily Schreckhise, Destini Campbell, Grant McNiel and wife Rachel, and Brenden McNiel and wife Jillian; great grandchildren, Juliette and David; along with numerous other family, friends, and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ellzey and Gwendolyn Johnson Ulmer.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Abundant Life Church, 12165 TX-75, Willis, Texas. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Smith Memorial Park, 10129 FM 1097 Rd W, Willis, Texas.
