December 26, 2022 Discovered the loss of a friend we've know for over 40 years.
Mike (The Ranger) was part of a group of 6 that served together in the early 80's.
Even though life scattered us around the globe, we all remained friends and in contact with one another. Albeit infrequently.
Mike was a charmer who made friends easily. He was an incredibly intelligent man who couldn't sit still in one place for very long. He was the essence of a leprechaun...a playful prankster that could tease and laugh with you all at the same time.
We'll all miss him very much.
You'll always be in our hearts Mike. We'll miss your infectious smile terribly.
The remaining 4 raise a glass to you, we know we'll see you before too long.
Your comrades in arms from "Don's World".

I've spent 2 months trying to think of the correct words to write for this . Then realised there aren't any .
For the past few years I have known Seighin (Michael) , we have never met in person , shared a bottle or broken bread together . However I did get to know him as a person and as a friend . His knowledge and wisdom in many fields , and his life experiences made him larger than life through the digital medium .
He touched the lives of so many people , making a difference in each and every one , whether it be through guidance , advice , jokes or plain tomfoolery he will be missed by all who had the privilege to call him friend .
God bless Seighin , you better have a smoke and a bottle of whisky ready when we next meet .

Michael was a true selfless soul that on many occasions helped me get on my feet in DCS and SC. He always took the time to take whoever needed anything to another chat and get whatever fixed. Give away his hard earned credits. Get key binds straight. The thing is he alway and I mean always made time for others in our community. He will be missed by me and many others.........

Michael (Seighin) you will be missed my friend, there were many early morning and even late nights where I was learning to fly. If it wasn't for you taking your time in teaching me, cracking a joke or two and even talking about your day to day to include breeding horses. You will be missed and my loving condolences for your loved ones. Thank you for everything

The only thing we keep throughout our life is our reputation. Like the ripples made when you slap a body of water, Michael's ripples rounded the globe many many times in the hundreds of people he helped. I met him in GR 4 years ago. I'd been forced to stop flying due to medical issues and found DCS. I met Michael (Seighin), and he taught me the intricacies of sim flying. He'd be online nightly, and like a mother goose, he'd have a string of chicks in tow, teaching formation flying, being the rock lead pilot, allowing others to practice moving closer and closer. I didn't realize how many he helped until the announcement of his death. Everyone he came in contact with, will be able to hear his voice repeat in their memories. A life well lived. That's as good as it gets.

Never one for a loss of words. Many an hour listening to life lessons learned. Though we didn't see eye to eye on everything, Michael was what everyone should aspire to be. No matter how discussions turned, he always parted them with a mutual respectful nature and held no grudge. We could use more of that everywhere today. I will miss you my friend. You rest now Brother. We have the watch

Michael (Seighin as I knew him) was a person whose character was instantly likeable, interesting, sometimes frustrating, and a pleasure to know.
He took the time to teach people what he knew about flying in the sims and about horses, offered many solutions to things in life you might not have thought of, and was always willing to lend a hand. I can't count the number of times he offered to set me up with some gear in Star Citizen (a game he took great pleasure in) and teach me what I needed for the simple costs of my time and efforts in his endeavors.
He loved his family and horses. Sometimes he'd sign off for the night after a curt "well, lads, time to go feed the harses", sometimes he'd be back an hour later loaded for bear and talking up a storm about the latest thing that annoyed him.
In the past days since I learned of his loss, I've found myself wishfully expecting the return of his voice on the discord, and saddened that such a lively and dynamic personality that I had grown to know a little will never be there again.
To his family and closest friends I extend my most sincere and loving condolences. My loss of a wonderful and friendly voice over the comms cannot compare to your own heartfelt pain, but you can look up and maybe occasionally smile knowing that he was a man of many friends throughout the world, all of us deeply affected both by knowing him and his sudden loss.
I can't think of many ways a man may make a lasting mark in this world that is more fitting or honorable.

He will be dearly missed. I had many a late night chatting with Michael (or Seighin as I knew him) about our favourite things to ride - aeroplanes, horses, and women!
He was always up for a laugh, especially if it involved taking the Mickey out of a mutual friend.
He was a great mentor to many in our online community, and he has left a large hole that will never be filled.
I'd wish him tailwinds and clear skies, but he always seemed to do fine without either, so just a fond farewell from a friend from across the sea.

Michael was adored by hundreds of people he helped and mentored all over the world. He was a great friend. Jovial, sharp-witted and an encyclopedia of knowledge, always full of wisdom and high intellect. It was a pleasure to know him, share with him and party with him. He will be missed dearly.
