Michael “Skip” G. Verbonitz, 80, of Downingtown, PA passed away on November 16, 2025.
Born in Hazleton, PA in 1945, he was the son of the late Emil and Sheila (née Finnegan) Verbonitz.
Michael was the beloved husband of Sally A. Verbonitz (née Smith); loving father of Michael E. Verbonitz (Debbie) and Brian H. Verbonitz (Michelle); and proud grandfather of Michael R., Andrew J. and the late Brian H. Verbonitz.
Skip, as he was affectionately known, was a hard worker as a manager at Westinghouse Power Generation.
Known to be passionate about his interests, Skip enjoyed all outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and cycling. He was a classic car enthusiast and liked watching Nascar races. He also had fun shopping, especially browsing flea markets. Very generous with his time and attention, he loved spending time with his family and friends most of all.
He and Sally enjoyed traveling and some of his most memorable and favorite places included, Elizabethton, TN, Westfield, PA, Amelia Island, FL and Stump Lake, Canada.
Skip’s faith in God was a light that shone through everything he did. He truly looked forward to seeing all of his family and friends, that passed before him, in the after-life.
