One thing about the railroad Bucyrus to Kankakee and years in Chicago to Toledo. Since 76 we left our own tracks. Sometimes too many tracks. Even that first snow duty from Fort Wayne to that huge Elkhart yard, where they lost two guys who worked 40 years in that yard. Jirene, we survived that blizzard by having each others back. Brothers since day one is a rarity bond. So strong the entire Chicigo division named us the "Action Twins". I will always wear that as a badge of honor. Jori, as hard as it is for me to finally write this, I can't imagine your families pain. Cheri and I's prayers have been with you for a while now. Our sincere condolences to you and your cool kids. We love them. You are the strongest woman I know. Your support group will get you through and ease your families loss. You and Jirene are true soul mates. Your family coming to Lakeside in 72 was the coolest thing. Our "Happy Days" , school and hanging out with Sweeties pancakes is special. We never knew what Ji would come up with next. I would like to make known my sincere condolences. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to meet Michael J. Vorndran. He seems to have been a great guy, at least to show the photos, I have just seen.
My name is Hubert Weidinger. I live in Germany and have almost 2 years ago contact with the Vorndrans from Fort Wayne, specifically with Mr Michael Joseph Vorndran, 2222 Kensington Avenue, IN 46805 Fort Wayne. His great-grandfather Casper Vorndran, your Michaels great-grandfather Kilian Vorndran and my great-grandmother, Elisabeth Vorndran were siblings and all were born at a small village called Frankenbrunn at Bavaria (Germany).
Now I would like to wish the best for you in future and give you the assurance that Michael is now in a place where it will lack nothing.

Mike will always be in my heart and on my mind. Some of the best memories of my life have been with him and Jori. He always made us laugh. He was an Uncle to my kids and a great friend to me. I love you big guy and I miss you!!! We all felt you at Jayden's performance tonight, it was special, and he knocked it out the park. It felt like you were sitting right next to me.
I know I've told you a thousand times, but THANK YOU for everything you've done for me, Jami, and the kids. You and Jori's generosity and love have no limits. Thank you for being Jayden's best friend and Ari's sweet grandpa. I admire the love between you, Jami and Jerm, and I hope that I can shower Ari and Jay with that same immense love. I only met Mike one time many years ago. He made my best friend very very happy and gave her a life time of happy memories. Jori I love you. I'm sorry you have to go through this pain. Character.
My cousin Jirene was all that & then some. He was a hard-working country boy who knew how to fend for himself, but always looked after others. He served his country, a hard-as-nails Marine with a huge heart. We didn't see one another often enough, but we we did, he'd call me "Cousin Crage" and launch into one of his wild stories or great ideas for having some fun. When I first came camping, he loved teasing me, that city boy, but then he'd teach me a trick on putting up a tent or stoking a fire. We would go with the younger kids up to Indian Beach Amusement Park and sneak upstairs to the Sky Room lounge, drinking & dancing with anyone that looked at him. Sit by the fire pit and laugh about all the mischief & mayhem that IS our family....we'd be the last ones at the fire most nights, watching those coals slowly lose their glow.
Mike, you were one of the great "bonfires" in this family, you burned hot and bright and wild....your coals may have burned out, but your flame will NEVER be forgotten. I'm so happy you were and forever will be my cousin. Good night, Jirene, until we sit by the pit again.......you will be sorely missed.
