Michael David Walbom, 80, passed away on December 18, 2024. He was born July 28, 1944, in Pocatello, Idaho. His parents were Jeanette G. Hansen and Lorenz I. Walbom who preceded him in death.
He was married to Pamela D. Walbom for 56 years. They were married in Provo, Utah in 1968, and blessed with three sons: James, Christopher, and Michael.
Michael graduated from BYU with a BS degree in Zoology in 1969 and obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Southern California in 1975. He practiced dentistry for over 47 years and retired at the age of 79. He founded "A Caring Place Dentistry" in 1983 in Tucson, Arizona where he practiced until he retired. He loved dentistry and especially enjoyed treating his patients.
He was always the coach of his sons' soccer and baseball teams. His three sons became Eagle Scouts, and he went with them on the 50-mile Philmont scout hike three times. He always looked forward to fishing trips, skeet shooting, and spending time with his family. He encouraged his sons to compete in horse events which resulted in several regional and national championships. He loved horses and dogs and at one point had 13 horses and 6 dogs. He enjoyed many great times at Lake Powell on a houseboat and liked to race Seadoos. He had a special Corvette that he loved to drive.
He is survived by his wife Pamela D. Walbom; sons: James (Claudia) Walbom, Chris (Lynette) Walbom, and Michael (Michelle) Walbom; and his five grandchildren: Sofia, Julia, Michael, Isabella, and Bryce. He is also survived by his brothers, Paul Walbom and Jeff Walbom.
