Michael Walsworth Obituary
Funeral services for Michael Roy "Big Mike" Walsworth, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home, Columbia with Rev. John Spears and Dr. Nelson Yont officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, January 14, 2022, from 5 PM until 8 PM.
Big Mike was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on October 13, 1953 and he passed from this life at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, West Monroe, on January 11, 2022, at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawton Walsworth and Ruby Humphries Walsworth, his step-son, Brian Brewer, step-daughter, Jennifer Stapleton; and all his siblings. Big Mike was a U.S. Navy veteran serving his country in Vietnam. He was a former member of Grace Christian Mission church. He was a loving husband, father, friend and loving Grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elaine Perot Walsworth of West Monroe; sons: Damien Walsworth of Monroe, Lauten Walsworth (Jessie) of Gainesville, TX, Logan Dortch of Columbia, stepson: Jason Brewer (Stevie) of Springfield, Missouri and step-daughter: Brandy Terrell (Sherman) of Olla, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lauten Walsworth, Damian Walsworth, Logan Dortch, Tanner Terrell, Dustin Ewing, Jason Brewer and Cleve Grant. Honorary pallbearers will be Doctors of Renal Associates including Dr. Nelson Yont, Dr. Larry Olinde, Dr. Charles Joyce, Dr. David Pruitt and Jacob Sanders.
