CWO4 Michael Eugene Walton

Hubert-Michael Eugene Walton, 72. Passed away at the Trauma Center on Camp Lejeune NC, December 6th, 2025. He was born July 30,1953 in Danville, VA. The son of Berkeley and Lillie Lovelace Walton.

Michael faithfully served his country for 26 1/2 years, retired in 1999 at the rank of CWO4-Chief Warrant Officer. He also worked 10 years in the HVAC industry. He loved spending time with family, friends and especially his grandchildren. He cared very much for his beloved pet cat Dexter. He was an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors and camping.

He was truly an amazing man, the best husband, father and grandfather and will always be in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joan Boyd Walton; children Hillary Holstein (Dustin) of NE, Alicia Walton of Jacksonville, Jaysen Walton of Hubert, and Lora Walton of Kinston; and grandchildren: Caroline, Adrian, Chloe, Emma, Annie, Jayden and Lana.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Walton.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 17,2025, at Jones Funeral Home-Swansboro at 1pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
