Michael F. Ward, born January 12, 1955, passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 71, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, surrounded by his family.
Michael grew up in Northeast Philadelphia, where lifelong friendships became an extension of his family. He was a funny, old-school man with a strong blue-collar work ethic and a deep love for his family.
He was married for 45 years to his beloved wife, June Ann Ward, who he is now reunited with in Heaven. Michael was a devoted father to Michael, Ashley, and Jillian, and a proud grandfather to Nicholas, Abby, Sophia, and Jaxson, who brought sunshine into his life. He will be lovingly remembered by his 2 younger sisters Joann and Trish.
Many friends and family knew him as "Tortoise". As an avid sports lover, he enjoyed watching the Eagles and the Phillies, following The Masters, watching "Seinfeld", spending time on the golf course, and cherishing moments with his family.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114; where family and friends can greet his family from 9:30-11:15 A.M. that morning. Words of remembrance from family and friends will begin at 11:30 A.M.
