I know these pictures have very little to do with your son, but they bring memories of you and Mark, my brother to mind. I was quite shocked to find this obituary when I was attempting to find your phone number to find out if a class bouquet is being collected for Sherry. Never mind that... There are plenty of people that I can call. As for your son. My brother wouldn´t let anyone touch his teeth, but him, even though Mark lived in Omaha and I believe Michael lived in Lake City. Mark had probably gone more than 10 years without seeing dentist because of how much he hated lidocaine. He insisted no numbing medicine be used, and after Michael showed him that little trick that dentist do by squeezing the cheek and shaking it a little, Mark thought he was the best dentist in the world. He might´ve been, and I tried to explain to him that every dentist did that little move, but Mark insisted that Michael must have invented it.
My thoughts and prayers are with you......

MIke was my friend throughout childhood as he lived two houses down from me on Elmwood Drive and was the only boy in the neighborhood who was my age. We spent many, many afternoons and evenings riding our bicycles at "the split", throwing baseballs and footballs back and forth, playing football in my front yard, and playing basketball in my driveway and on Ron Koontz's court up the hill. Those were some of the best times of my life and throughout those years Mike was one of my very best friends. We drifted apart by the time we were in high school, since we went to different schools, and we only crossed paths at Creighton once or twice, but I have never forgotten those years of late childhood and preadolescence during which we spent hours playing and talking. I always resented the fact that Mike was so much faster than me and I was sometimes frustrated by the fact that he was unwilling to engage in some of the mischief that was so attractive to me at that age. However, looking back I am sure that his good character kept me out of a lot of trouble that I would otherwise have gotten in to. I was sorry to hear of his passing and sorry to realize that I will never again cross paths with someone who was such a good friend during such an important part of my life. I will always remember him fondly and be grateful for the friendship that we had.

It breaks my heart to read of Mike Warm's passing. I had the pleasure of being a babysitter for Mike and his sister Marcie in the late 1960's. They were the most well-behaved, charming children I have ever known! I have thought of them periodically over the years; my memories of them always bring a smile to my face. My sincere condolences to Mike's family.

Mike was a good friend for many years. He was a year ahead of me in high school, we played golf together, worked at Sears Roebuck and Company together in the old Midlands Mall and Mike would drive me to school at Creighton when we were in undergrad together. When he was in the First National Bank Building his office was just down the hall from mine. When I moved out of McCurdy Funeral Home, I recommended to Mr. McCurdy that Mike would be a good replacement for me, and he lived there for several years too. Mike was a great friend and I will always remember his smile. RIP Brother!!!
