Michael Weletok, born on October 15, 1962, passed away on December 17, 2025, was a beloved son and a dedicated public servant. He was the cherished son of Michael and Catherine Weletok.
Michael served with honor as a proud member of the New York Police Department (NYPD), where he dedicated his life to protecting and serving the community. He retired as a detective in 2007 after many years of distinguished service, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community he served.
Michael leaves behind a legacy in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his partner of many years, Carolyn McLennan, family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life and contributions in the summer of 2026.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michael’s memory to Alexandria Bay Fire Department, 110 Walton St., Alexandria Bay, NY 13607 or the River Hospital Foundation, 4 Fuller St., Alexandria Bay, NY or at riverhospital.org.
