It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Michael G. Williams, a lifelong resident of Carver, who departed this life on September 15, 2026, at the age of 65.

Michael was born in Wareham on November 13, 1960, to Robert C. and Emma C. (Florindo) Williams.

Mike, affectionately known to many as Mikey, devoted his entire working life to his family’s businesses. He worked as a sawyer at R.D. Williams Sawmill and as the foreman of Williams Cranberry Co., dedicating himself wholeheartedly to both roles.

Of all the roles Mike held throughout his life, one of his most cherished was serving as a volunteer firefighter with the Carver Fire Department. He proudly served his community for 46 years before recently retiring from active duty. Mike was deeply committed to his fellow firefighters and took great pride in always being there for his community. He was fortunate to attend his final company dinner on the evening before his sudden passing.

Mike was an exceptionally hardworking and honest man who took tremendous pride in providing for his family. In his younger years, he enjoyed deer and duck hunting. He also loved watching sports of every kind, including football, baseball, soccer, hockey, and NASCAR. Family trips to Loudon for NASCAR races were especially meaningful to him.

Mike is survived by his father, Robert C. “Pete” Williams; his beloved wife of 45 years, Lynne M. Williams; his cherished sons, Christopher M. Williams and his fiancée, Jordan Mills, and Craig R. Williams and his wife, Jenna; and his sister, Mari Ellen Williams, and her partner, Michael Facchini. He was predeceased by his mother, Emma C. Williams.

He also leaves behind his five beloved grandchildren, Chase, Wes, Brayden, Charlotte, and Savannah. They were among his greatest joys, and he was incredibly proud to be their Grampy.

Mike will be deeply missed by his family, friends, fellow firefighters, coworkers, and the many members of the Carver community whose lives he touched throughout his 65 years.

Calling hours for Michael will be held on Thursday, September 24th from 3 to 7pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home in Carver

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike’s memory to the Carver Fire Department, Carver EMS or Carver Police Department.
