Michael Eugene "Mike" Williams

1958 - 2026

Mr. Michael Eugene "Mike" Williams, age 67, beloved K-9 Deputy with the Floyd County Sheriff's Office, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at a local hospital.

Mike was born in Rome, GA, on March 18, 1958, son of the late Willie Eugene Williams and the late Lura Marie Kelley Williams. He was a graduate of Armuchee High School and went on to graduate from Nashville Auto-Diesel College. Mike worked for the Floyd County Sheriff's Office for over 18 years, where he was known far and wide as a k-9 Deputy extraordinaire. Not only did he assist in many search and rescue missions, but he also brought countless smiles to children's faces by bringing Doc to every community event possible. He was the founder and post commander of the Floyd County Sheriff's Posse and also served as the state coordinator for CUE Center for Missing People. Mike served with unwavering dedication, loyalty and commitment to our community even in the midst of his ongoing health battles. His post may be relieved on this side, but he is now rejoicing, fully healed, at the feet of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Marie Williams, Rome, whom he was married on October 2, 1981; son, Zack Williams (Sarah), Kingston; his granddaughter and light of his life, Amelia Williams; a sister, Diane Hooks, Villa Rica; a multitude of other family members and more friends than he could count.

A celebration of Mike's Life will be held at 2pm on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Northside Church, 75 N Floyd Park Rd, Rome, GA 30165, with Chaplain David Thornton officiating and Dr. Dan Pate delivering the eulogy.

The family will receive friends from 11am until service time on Monday at Northside Church.

Honorary pallbearers are to assemble by 1:30pm on Monday at Northside Church and include: Harrison Dupree, Cody Ward, Colt Waid, Charlie Womack, Bill Lackey, Robert Browning, the Floyd County Sheriff's Office, and the Floyd County Sheriff's Posse.
