Michael Lester Wright,69, of St. Albans, Vermont, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Born on December 28, 1956, in Burlington, Vermont, he was the son of the late William Wright and Loretta (Parrott) Wright.

Michael was known for his strong work ethic and his commitment to perfection in everything he set out to accomplish. Above all, he was a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones dearly.

After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served with the United States Navy Seabees from 1975 to 1979, helping build and maintain critical infrastructure in support of naval operations, including work at the naval base on Diego Garcia. Following his military service, he returned home and began a 42-year career with the United States Postal Service.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marilyn L. Wright; his daughters, Dawn Persons, Amy Nelson, Jennifer Chalifoux and her husband Stephen Chalifoux, and Kimberly Wright and her fiancé, Christian Favreau. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Danielle Laware, Nicholas Laware, Kace Nelson, Kyliegh Barrett, Maddox Favreau, Iris Favreau and his great-grandson, Parker Morehouse.

Michael is also survived by his six siblings: Russell Wright and his wife Arlene, David Wright and his wife Sandy, Deborah Wright, Karen Healer and her husband Michael, Kevin Wright and his wife Caterina, Steve Wright and his wife Maripaz, a dear uncle whom he visited often, Jerry Parrott, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
