Michael Ray Wymer, a man of steadfast resolve and remarkable talent, passed away in the comforting surroundings of Kalamazoo, Mich., on Nov. 28, 2025, a peaceful end to a life that began in Berrien Center on Jan. 6, 1967. Throughout his 58 years, Michael epitomized qualities such as intelligence, handiness and a captivating personality that touched many.
He grew up nurtured by the love and guidance of his parents, James and Judy (Short) Wymer. Michael was a devoted father to his three children: Matthew Wymer, Heather Strickland and Amber Wymer, all of whom brought great joy and pride into his life. His role as a grandfather to four was one he cherished deeply, his wisdom and strength flowing through to the next generation.
Michael's siblings: Jamie Wymer, William Wymer, Michelle (David) Bradshaw and Nichole Kniebes – remember him not only as a brother but as a lifelong friend. Their bonds strengthened by countless shared experiences.
A man who loved fishing, Michael found solace in the quiet ripples of the water and the patience required to make a great catch. Those who knew him recognized his strong will, often revealed in his endeavors and his measured, contemplative demeanor.
A funeral service will be held for Michael at 11 a.m. on Saturday Dec. 6, at Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire. A public visitation will take place an hour before the service. Burial will follow the service in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus.
