Michael Young Obituary
A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday at 4:30 pm in the Langley Family Cemetery on Brooks Dr., Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 3pm at Smith Funeral Service, Greenville.
Mike, son of the late Edwin and Geraldine Langley Young, grew up in Edgecombe County. Growing up, he worked on the family farm, and later worked as a truck driver, driving all across America. Mike loved gardening and his CB radios. He always had a hat on, especially his Fedora in his later years.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Strickland; mother of his children, Sharon; children, Heather Young Whitley of Greenville, Christopher Michael Young of Macclesfield, and Jennifer Leigh Morelli (Adam) of Durham; grandchildren, Emilie and Spencer; stepdaughter, Stephanie Goetz of Ayden; and his little dog, Gizmo.
