Michael Zacklan Obituary
August 17, 1951 to December 22, 2025
Michael J. Zacklan peacefully departed this earth and was received into the Lord's arms December 22, 2025 at the age of 74. Michael had a zest for life, an eye for beauty, and profound love for his family. Michael was blessed with a kidney transplant in 2017 which allowed him to extend his life living in his favorite place in the world in Northern Michigan.
Michael is survived by his dedicated wife of 47 years, Melinda (nee Wilson). Together, they raised two children, Steve and Lauren (Willey). His grandchildren were his joy, and Brayden, Alyssa and Julia sure loved their "Poppy". Michael is also survived by dear siblings and in-laws, Howard (Judy) Zacklan, Dave Zacklan, Elaine (Brian) Cobb, Dana (Joe) Tringali, Chet (Teri) Wilson, and Karl Wilson. Mike also holds a place in the hearts of many nieces and nephews and extended family, including Melissa, Sierra and Brooklynn.
Mike left an impression on all that he came into contact with, and had a deep respect for all people, wherever they might be on this journey. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Lois Zacklan (nee Ragsdale), dear sisters-in-laws Andrea Aho and Sandra Wilson, along with his beloved Jazzy cat.
Visitation for Michael will be on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 11 am until a 1 pm funeral service at at Wasik Funeral Home, Gendernalik Chapel 35259 23 Mile Rd. (New Baltimore)
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in remembrance of Michael to the National Kidney Foundation or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.

Mike we are so saddens to here you have gone to the lord Dave and I lived next to you and Melinda in Chesterfield MI we really enjoyed you and your family.We kept In touch then as it goes life happens.Dave and I spoke of you and Melinda ,we pray for your family and how our kids played with Lauren.We will keep you and your family in our prayers.If someone would like to . reach out anytime.God Bless Dave and Wanda Muscat .

Hello, I am an old friend of Michael Zacklin.
I am Rose (Bishop) Springstead. I grew up on Dale Street until 1965. Our family moved to Dearborn, MI because my father changed jobs. Michael & I were friends on the Block.
He went to Center Line HS & I went to St. Clement HS. In our younger years there were a ton of kids on our street. I would visit Michael & talk on his front porch. One time I was there when I was 9 & fell off his porch & hit my head. Michael walked me home, because I was dizzy & the telephone poles were moving. To say the least, I had a concussion & was in the hospital for a few days. That I will never forget.
We stayed friends for many years. Michael was always kind, sweet & a good friend.
I will never forget him. I did not know that he had a transplant, but I am happy that gave him more years of life with wife, children & grandchildren. Sending prayers & hugs to his Wife & Family. My Condolences are with his Family and Friends. I was very happy to have known him. May He rest in Peace .
