Michaelee Joy Frederickson-Nolen, age 75, entered into eternal rest after bravely fighting an extended illness. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the loved ones who stood by her side throughout her journey. Michaelee’s strength and love touched everyone who knew her.
Born September 23, 1950, in Brownstown, Indiana, she was the daughter of Donald and Myrtle Frederickson. She graduated from Clearspring High School before moving to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the FBI. Over the years, she held positions with General Motors, Burlington Motor, and Hallmark—but the role she cherished most was being a full-time mom.
Michaelee married, built a family, and made her home in Anderson, Indiana. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking, fishing, and camping. She was also a fan of Elvis Presley and loved hummingbirds. Michaelee loved people deeply and effortlessly. Among her greatest joys were the moments spent with her grandchildren. She cherished her little getaways, holding close the memories of Michigan adventures with Melinda and Olivia and the family trip to Chicago.
Michaelee was most proud of her children and grandchildren, whom she loved beyond measure.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Allen Nolen; her children Allen (Nichole) Nolen and Stanley (Missy) Nolen; step-son Carl Nolen; and her “daughter” Penny Jo Illuzzi and family. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Kaylin Nolen, Olivia Turner, Brittany Kelley, and Natalie Roberts; her brother Donny Frederickson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Melinda Nolen; her step-son Robert Nolen; and her siblings Janet, Donna, William, and John.
Michaelee will surely miss the laughter-filled adventures with her gal pals, from Mexican dinners to casino trips and Cracker Barrel gatherings. Those are cherished memories to all who shared them with her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
May her legacy of love, kindness, and strength continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a service at 6:00 p.m., officiated by Hubert Nolen. All services will take place at Legacy Funeral Home, 504 W. 9th Street, Anderson, Indiana 46012.
