Michel John Pope

Michel John Pope, age 52, of Richland, MS passed away on Tuesday, January 27th 2026, surrounded by love.

Michel was employed by Taylor Power Systems as a maintenance construction technician. He held a 10th degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. He was a member of Briar Hill Baptist Church in Florence MS.

Michel was known for a life well lived and a heart rooted in simple joys. Few things made him happier than cooking a big pot of crawfish, casting a fishing line, or feeling the sand beneath his feet at the beach. These moments weren't just hobbies - they were how Michel connected with life and the people they loved.

Above all else, Michel cherished time spent with his son, Luke. Whether fishing side by side, sharing meals, or making memories by the water, those moments defined his greatest happiness and proudest role.

Michel will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the way he brought people together - especially around food, laughter, and the outdoors. His love for family, the water, and life's simple pleasures will live on in the hearts of all who knew them.

Siblings: William Pope, Robert Pope, Tayna Sprinkle(Joe), Kevin Pope(Carrie). Loving niece and nephews, Selena Sharp, Blake Hart, Elijah Pope, Joshua Pope.

He is preceded in death by his father, Rex Pope. Mother, Amber Pope.

A celebration of life will be held on 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3rd at the Life Center of Briar Hill Baptist Church in Florence, MS with a burial at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.
