Michelangelo, I knew you briefly when we were young because of my twin sister, Michelle. I remember you would call our house from Iraq to talk to Michelle and when she wasn't home to take your call, we'd talk for as long as you had the time. I will always remember you and thank you for defending our freedom. I'm sorry we lost you.

To the family of PFC Michelangelo Mora:
Please know that just as your loved one remains in your hearts and minds; his sacrifice, and that of your family, remains with the people he died defending. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for his bravery and selflessness, or the heartache we feel for your loss. God bless and keep you always.

Michelangelo.
Today is the fifth year anniverary, of the last day you graced the earth. Micheal, the last time you e-mailed me, you told me, as soon as you get home, all you wanted was to get together with the familia, and eat, just like old times. We did just that, all in your honor. I love you,and miss you so much. Everytime I see the flag, I remember how you sacrificed yourself, for others' wellbeing, and freedom. It just says the type of person you were, loving, and selfless. When I hear Bad Religion, I think of how we were supposed to go see them, when you got back. Life isn't the same without you here, to joke, and smile. I love you, my cousin, and miss you everyday.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Michelangelo but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Hey Mora, it's been almost four years and I still remember the last time we spoke. We were in An Najaf fighting Sadr's army, that's when we were extended in Iraq for another 3 months. Reflecting back, I remember when you asked me how my little girl was doing, because I had to leave her when she was only 4 months old but your comforting words always helped me get through another day. I miss you guy. I can't help but think how you would still be alive today had we not been extended out there but you gave the ultimate sacrifice, your life. My heart is with you always my brother.
Until we see each other again, R.I.P.

Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and all that we hold sacred. Though tears can never bring you back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that you made and our sorrow at your passing. You are truly a hero and your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Your mission on earth is complete. I knew your son Michel from the Army. I was in the same platoon as him. I remember him just joining us that summer of 2003. He was just a brand new Pvt. that joined a bunch of guys who had been together for a long time. Michel was eager to fit in with the rest of us, and did. He was a fast learner, and caught on quickly. I left Iraq Nov. 2003 and got out of the Army. I was deeply sadden to hear about his death. He was a good guy and I remeber him as if it was yesterday.

I did not know Michael, but I wear a bracelet everyday with his name on it. I was in 2ACR, and in Najaf with him. I purchased the bracelet at Fort Polk. I wear it to remind people that Americans are losing loved ones everyday in Iraq and Afghanistan. May God bless you and your family.

Dear Mr and Mrs. Mora,
I am deeply sorry for your loss. I remember Michaelangelo from years ago when I worked at Kids R People 2 with his aunt, Lenia Barba. He was volunteering there for a while and he was so much fun to be around. He was great with the kids and he made their faces light up with his smile and great sense of humor.
