With a broken heart, I sadly announce my mother Michele Rose Fiorillo, 72, of
Freeville, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025 at
her home. She was born October 15th, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY to Thomas A.
Fiorillo and Dorothea (Gifford) Fiorillo.
She obtained her Master's Degree from Dowling College in Elementary
Education where her love for teaching led to a career for 30 years at Millard
Fillmore Elementary School in Moravia, NY. She loved her job and proudly
taught a mix of Kindergarten, First Grade, and Pre-First before retiring in
2013.
She is survived by her daughter, Shannon (Pearsall) Parkinson-Teaghlach,
her son-in-law Daniel Parkinson-Teaghlach and her two grandchildren: Rylan
Parkinson-Teaghlach and Finleigh Parkinson-Teaghlach. She is also survived
by her sister Toniann Fiorillo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas A. Fiorillo and Dorothea
(Gifford) Fiorillo, her brother Joseph Fiorillo, and many aunts, uncles and
cousins on the Fiorillo and Gifford sides of the family.
Memorials may be made to either Tompkins County SPCA or Cortland County
SPCA for she had a passion and love for rescue animals.
