Michele Marie (Ryan) Higbee, 57, of Floodwood, MN passed away September 15th, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with heart failure.

Born to Maureen Ryan in Duluth, MN on January 22nd, 1968, Michele grew up in the Duluth area. She graduated from Duluth Central High School and received her associate's degree in law enforcement from Hibbing Community College. She held numerous jobs in the security sector, in addition to working at North Home Children Shelters and the Floodwood Ambulance.

In her early adult life, Michele loved to travel, eventually landing in Floodwood. She met Justin Higbee and they married and had 6 children. Michele loved being with her family and kids. She enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing, tending to her hobby farm, and just simply being outside.

Michele had some special traits that her friends and loved ones will miss, like being an adrenaline junkie or being extremely loving and caring. She was known to be stubborn, but very resilient, and would do anything for the people she loved. She was super strong, a great cook, and was really artistic.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Maureen Ryan, aunts, uncles and friends.

Michele is survived by her husband, Justin Higbee; children, Brekklin Ryan, Shalin Boltz, Justinn (Seth) Brown, Ashton Higbee, Ravin Higbee (Barak Bonds), and Talin Higbee (Robert Modich); grandchildren, Trinity Ryan, Adaline Brown, Roanan Modich, Theodore Brown, and Sullivan Brown; and many other friends, family, and loved ones.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22nd at 12 noon at Nelson Funeral Care until funeral service at 1 pm. Interment to follow at Van Buren Township Cemetery in Floodwood.
