Michele Elisabeth Morgan

Michele Elisabeth (Cummings) Morgan, age 70, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025 at St. Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit, MO, with her family by her side, wrapped in the same love she always gave so freely.

She was born on June 17, 1955, at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota, to Clavis EuJean Cummings and Elisabeth Irene (Weiss) Cummings.

Although her life began in Duluth, Michele's childhood was shaped by her father's Air Force career. Shortly after she was born, the family was stationed in Japan for three years before returning to the United States at Whiterman Air Force Base. They later settled in Warrensburg, Missouri, where Michele attended Sacred Heart Elementary, Warrensburg Junior High, and graduated from Warrensburg High School in 1973.

In school, Michele was known as one of the sweetest people anyone could meet, with a contagious laugh that instantly brightened the room. After graduating, she worked various jobs and eventually met the love of her life, Dennis Lee Morgan, while both were employed at Royal Industrial. Together, they built a family and welcomed five children.

Michele discovered her passion for cooking while working at Ridge Crest Nursing Center. What began as a job soon became a lifelong calling. She continued her career in dietary services and retired as the Dietary Supervisor at Cedars of Liberty in 2021.

Above all, Michele loved her family deeply. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She had a special way of making every child, or anyone for that matter, feel loved, whether they were part of her family or not. Michele never ended a visit or phone call without saying " I love you," and she truly meant it every time. Michele's strong faith and love for God guided the way she lived, showing kindness, compassion, and a gentle heart to everyone she met. She had a fun, lively spirit and was often the life of every gathering. Michele will be deeply missed by all who love her!

Michele is survived by her brothers, Thomas Eugene Cummings and Patrick Aron Cummings (Cindy); her children, Christopher EuJean Swinson (Laverna), Elisabeth Ashley Morgan-Kahube, Tiffani Marie Williams (Daniel), Dennis Lee Morgan II (Lindsey), and Michael Leveth Eugene Morgan; 20 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clavis EuJean Cummings and Elisabeth Irene (Weiss) Cummings; her brother, Claude Clavis Cummings; and her ex-husband, Dennis Lee Morgan.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri with Gary Morgans officiating. A funeral service will take place directly after the visitation.

A graveside service will take place at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg, Missouri. Pallbearers include Christopher Swinson, Michael Morgan, Dennis Morgan, Christopher Bartlett, Jaden Williams and Derrick Morgan. The honorary pallbearer is Daniel Williams.
