Michelle Lee Lopez (Pineda), 44, entered her eternal rest on December 1, 2015 at M. D. Anderson. She was born in Austin, Texas (Bergstrom AFB) on April 4, 1971. She graduated from Pace High School and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Brownsville in 1993. She married the love of her life, Sergio Tito Lopez on December 4, 1994.
Michelle's pride and joy were her family. They were the beat of her heart; she was their compass and anchor. On Sunday night with them around her bed, she comforted them. Her last task was to tenderly and eloquently pray over them. Michelle was determined to wrap them in the mantle of prayer.
Singing to the Lord was a passion. Her voice was mesmerizing. She sang at church services and the funerals of family members and friends.
Michelle is survived by her husband, Sergio Tito Lopez and their sons: Brendan David, Nicholas Lee and Nathan Andrew. She is survived by her parents, Armando Loy, Sr. and Lelia (Dee) Pineda; her brothers: Armando Loy Pineda, Jr.; Matthew Aaron Pineda and Edward Brian (Maritza) Pineda. Her paternal grandmother is Mildred Pineda. Her aunts and uncles are: Penny Givens, Sylvia Vela, Gilbert (Diane) Pineda, Henry (Violet) Pineda and Nancy (Jesse) Saldana. Her in-laws are: Maria del Refugio Lopez Avila; Manuel (Donna) Lopez; Jose Martin (Chito) Lopez; Ruben (Noella) Lopez; and Yancy Lopez and also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 1-9 p.m. and Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 p.m. There will be a chapel service held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas. (956) 350-8485
