We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of Michelle Denise McDuffie, a woman who truly embodied the word "beautiful." She wasn't just beautiful in appearance, but in her spirit, her actions, and the way she touched the lives of everyone she met. Michelle had a light within her that shone brightly, illuminating even the darkest corners of our hearts.
Many of us here today know firsthand the depth of Michelle's love. She made it her mission to always bring her family together, as she’s done again today. Michelle had a gift for connecting with people, making friends everywhere she went. She saw the good in everyone, extending kindness and compassion to those who were often overlooked.
Michelle had a zest for life that was contagious. Her laughter, so full and vibrant, could fill a room and instantly lift everyone's spirits. That laughter, coupled with her beautiful singing voice, brought joy to every gathering. And if you were lucky enough to be on the receiving end of her fierce loyalty, you knew she would defend you without hesitation, her only question being, "What's their name?"
Beyond her loving nature, Michelle was a woman of many passions. She was an avid reader, devouring books of all kinds, especially history. Music and fashion were true loves of hers, and she shared that love with all who were close to her. Michelle was an incredible writer with a deep love for journalism, a passion she pursued during her time at TVI and as a radio host at KUNM before moving into the legal field.
Michelle’s love extended beyond the traditional bonds of family. She poured her maternal instincts into nurturing her nieces, nephews, and countless friends, offering guidance, support, and a listening ear whenever they needed it. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support that will forever be etched in our hearts.
Michelle was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda McDuffie, and her brother Terry. Their reunion in the afterlife brings us comfort, knowing she is surrounded by
loved ones. She leaves behind her sister Angela, her cherished nieces and nephews, countless friends, and a community that was touched by her kindness and vibrant spirit.
While we grieve the loss of Michelle far too soon, we find solace in knowing that her soul is finally at peace. Let us remember her not with sadness, but with the joy and laughter that she brought into our lives. Let us honor her memory by striving to be more like her – more loving, more compassionate, and more accepting of others. Michelle, you will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
