Michelle A. McElhenny, also known as “MAC”, 61, of Venango, formerly of Erie, died on Monday, April 15, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie on June 11, 1962, the daughter of the late Ivan and Marilyn Johnston.
She graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1980. Michelle then attended nursing school and earned her LPN license. She was a long time valued nurse at healthy families primary care in Erie, where she was loved by her patients, doctors, and the rest of the staff. Michelle loved caring for her husband and children and being a “Maudie” aka Grandma to her one and only grandchild. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, music, taking care of her pets, and rocking out to her husband's band for 40 years playing the tambourine.
Other than her parents, Michelle was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Johnston, Jr.
Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, John M. McElhenny; a son, Leo (Kaitlyn) McElhenny, of Erie; a daughter, Maria McElhenny of Venango; a foster son, Tyrell Husband, of Erie; two sisters, Darcie (Warren) Dagenbach of Cape Coral, FL and Lisa (Matthew) McElhenny of Erie; also a grandson, Orlando Markouc; and many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro, PA at 10 am with Fr. Mark Hoffman officiating.
