Paul McElhenny Obituary

Paul McElhenny, 89, of Scranton, passed away at Green Ridge Care Center on Saturday, July 20.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late David and Jane Phillips McElhenny. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Anna "Kay" Bonifanti. He was of the Baptist faith. He was employed by RCA for 25 years. After retirement, he worked for the Cathedral Cemetery during the summer months. He enjoyed bowling, playing poker and the lottery.

Surviving are his son, Paul; and daughter, Karen Kowanick and husband, Mike, all of Scranton; grandchildren, Michael, Zane, Quinn, Zach and Kate; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Jane Behlke, Barbara Wozney, Elizabeth Secor, Lois May and Clare Bird; and three brothers, Billy, David and Earl.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 26 by Pastor Dominick Petillo at 11 a.m. in the McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home, 1401 Capouse Ave., Scranton, PA 18509.

Family and friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Entombment, Cathedral Cemetery.
