I t is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michelle Patrice Mills, 58, of Middleborough, Massachusetts, who departed this life on November 12, 2025, at Boston Medical Center - Brighton, after a lengthy battle with leukemia and cardiac issues. Born on March 12, 1967, at Otis Air Force Base in Bourne, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of the late Chester P. Mills and Joan M. (Loveday) Mills.
Michelle dedicated her life to caring for others, serving as a Registered Nurse providing direct care to patients in the nursing home industry during the Covid-19 pandemic, which was very rough on Michelle. Her compassion and commitment to her patients were evident throughout her career. Earlier in life, she had also served in the United States Air Force, and worked as a Police Officer exemplifying her dedication to service and community.
Michelle was a vibrant and loving presence in the lives of her family and friends. She cherished spending quality time with her daughter, Naomi Costa, and her three grandchildren, Ayden, Liliana, and Isabella, who fondly referred to her as "Ganny." Her warmth extended to her numerous nieces and nephews, who adored their "Auntie Shelly." Michelle found joy in gardening, traveling, playing softball, trips to the casino, and riding her motorcycle, creating lasting memories with her family and friends. A faithful member of Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church in Carver, she carried her faith as a guiding light throughout her life.
Michelle is survived by her devoted daughter, Naomi Costa and her husband, Nuno of Ludlow, MA, as well as her cherished grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by siblings: Deborah Baker, Corey Mills, Joy Vehaegen, Thomas Mills, Steven Mills, Randal Mills, Terese Mills-Goranson, David Mills, Mary Mills-Silva, Katherine Mills-Feeney, Patrick Mills, Michael Mills, Johnny Mills, and Joseph Mills, whose lives she touched deeply. She was also the sister of the late Gregory Mills.
Visiting hours for Michelle will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, located at 280 Bedford Street,
Lakeville, MA 02347. A funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church / St. Isidore Parish, located at 340 Center Street, Middleborough, MA 02346.
