Michelle LaVern Palmer - Washington, born on September 21, 1957, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, peacefully departed this world on November 10, 2025, in Andover, Kansas. She lived a life adorned with love, laughter, and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.Michelle's educational journey began at Ponca City High School, from which she graduated in 1975. She was a proud member of the "PO Hi Steppers" and later pursued her studies at Northern Oklahoma College. This foundation laid the groundwork for a robust career in accounting, primarily within the oil and gas sector, where she dedicated over ten years to Conoco. Following that chapter, she continued her professional journey at a bank in Tulsa for more than five years. Michelle's career exemplified her dedication and strong work ethic which resonated deeply in her personal life as well.Michelle was also a woman of many interests and hobbies. She found joy in crocheting, traveled to various destinations, loved spending time at casinos, and had a great passion for sports. Her warm and sweet nature drew people to her, and it was in her interactions that she truly shone, offering kindness and support to friends and family alike.She is remembered not only for her accomplishments but also for her loving family. Michelle shared her life with her devoted husband, Leo Washington, and proudly embraced her stepdaughter, Alexis Washington, both of whom reside in Kansas City. Her mother, Martha Palmer, of Ponca City, will forever cherish her memories of Michelle, just as her siblings will hold her close in their hearts. Her brother, Greg Palmer, and his wife Denise, along with her sister, Marsha Palmer-Thelwell, and husband Dwight Thelwell of Lee's Summit, MO, will carry forth her legacy alongside her cherished nieces, Nicole and Alisha Palmer of Tulsa, as well as her great-nieces, Carlaiya Harrison, Kiyleah White, and Mikahlyn Caldwell.Michelle's journey through life was not without its losses; she was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Palmer, as well as her paternal and maternal grandparents. While the pain of these losses remains, her memory will shine brightly for those who mourn her absence.A memorial service celebrating the life of Michelle LaVern Palmer - Washington will be held on November 15, 2025, at the Visitation Room in Ponca City, Oklahoma. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, and all are invited to honor and remember a truly remarkable woman who touched so many lives.In a world that often feels hurried and disconnected, Michelle's sweet, warm spirit will be cherished and missed, ensuring that her legacy of kindness and joy lives on in the hearts of all she loved.
