Michelle Marie Schnepf, 46, of Chicago Heights, Illinois, passed away on September 11, 2025, in Crown Point, Indiana.

Born in Chicago Heights on May 20, 1979, to Sandra Bunge and John Schnepf, Michelle was a bold and vibrant soul, known for her larger-than-life personality. She had a love for life that shone through in everything she did-from belting out early 2000s hip-hop in the car to expressing her creativity through coloring and diamond paintings. She loved to go on summer fishing trips, where she took pride in always catching the biggest bass.

Michelle's humor, laughter, and candid thoughts were unforgettable. She was unapologetically herself and lived life on her own terms, never worrying about what others thought.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Hailey Ward; her granddog, Chance Michael; her parents, John E. Schnepf and Sandra Bunge (Jeff Bunge); her sister, Anastasia Miller; her brother, John A. Schnepf; and her oma, Marie Schnepf.

There is not a single person that can compare to the light she brought into every room she walked in - to say she will be missed is an understatement.

I miss you already Michelle. I've always thought of you like a sister and I would do anything for you. You were family. Heaven a gained a beautiful angel. I know you up there with Adam and all of your lost loved ones but do me a favor can you say hi to my sister for me. I know you'll be watching over Hailey and Bubs. Take care and I'll be there with you someday but behave yourself until then. I love you very much Michelle. Shine bright sister
