Mrs. Michelle R Torrez, 71, from her home on Clairton Lane in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, died Saturday night on January 24, 2026, at UC Health Highlands Ranch Hospital after contracting an intestinal infection that was inoperable due to preexisting health conditions.
Born in St. Paul Minnesota on May 1, 1954, Mrs. Torrez and her family moved to Ukiah California in the summer of 1959. Opportunities for her surgeon father led to a move to Stockton Ca, where she attended Trinity Lutheran School through 8th grade. She attended Stockton Junior High School for one year for ninth grade. For high school, she attended Amos Alanso Stagg High School from grades ten through twelve. After primary and secondary education, she attended San Joaquin Delta College, before transferring to California State Long Beach to study Criminal Justice. She switched educational tracks and enrolled at St. Luke’s School of Nursing to study to become a registered nurse. She moved to Colorado and worked as a registered nurse at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital for thirty years, until retiring in 2016.
Mrs. Torrez’s immediate surviving family members include her husband Manual A Torrez, her son Matthew A Torrez and her daughter Kristen A Torrez. Her two sisters Claudia Pearson and Trudy Reed are still alive as well.
A Memorial Service is being held at 7:00 pm, Monday, February 2, 2026 at Christ Lutheran Church, 8997 S Broadway, Highlands Ranch, Colorado 80129. A summer Celebration of Life is preliminary scheduled for June 28, 2026. Location has not been determined, and the date is subject to change.
