Mickey Lou Burch

Mickey Lou Burch, age 65 of Hayesville, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Mickey was born in Hayesville to the late Kenneth William and Ann Marie Lurch Burch. She worked in management for Desoto Square Apartments in Hayesville which she loved and was a very dedicated employee. Mickey enjoyed online shopping and going through drive throughs to eat out. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, which showed with her "Happy Halloween" saying.

Mickey was also her little brother's, Tony Burch, caretaker for nearly 33 years. When her health was declining, they took care of each other. Even in the nursing home, Tony would make sure he opened the door for Life Care when they took Mickey to dialysis. He kept an eye on her every day.

She is survived by her brothers, Eddie Burch (Debra), John Burch (Betty) and Tony Burch; her sisters, Joan Plott, Connie Davenport (Terry), Dana Sutphin (Ricky) and Nancy Rigsby (Randy); and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Hayesville with Pastor Aline Mosteller and Deacon Richard Burch officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery in Hayesville. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be drivers of Life Care.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 1pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Hayesville prior to the funeral service.

The family would like to send out a special thanks to Life Care for going above and beyond to provide the care and transportation that Mickey needed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Union Hill Cemetery Fund, c/o Mary Nichols, 219 Cold Branch Road, Hayesville, NC 28904.
