Mickey Metoyer, a devoted husband, father, and brother, passed away on April 21, 2025, in Alexandria, Louisiana, at the age of 56. Born on September 21, 1968, in Los Angeles, California, Mickey lived a life characterized by his hardworking spirit and dedication to his family.
For many years, Mickey made his mark as a truck driver, traversing the highways with a steadfast commitment to his profession. Beyond his work, he was known for his gentle heart and nurturing nature, often recalling the joy he found in taking care of his animals, particularly his chickens. Mickey’s personality shone brightly; he was a loving husband to his wife, Joyce Sapp Metoyer, with whom he shared 35 wonderful years of marriage, and a proud father to his daughters, Camilla Metoyer and Kisha Sapp.
A figure well-known for his distinct style, Mickey could almost always be seen wearing his cowboy hat. He was also an avid fan of LSU games, finding great delight in cheering for his team alongside friends and family.
Mickey is survived by his wife, Joyce; his daughters, Camilla and Kisha; his sister, Jackie Raggio; his brother, James Metoyer; and his maternal grandmother, Allie Rachal. His influence touched many lives, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Visitation will be held on April 26, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Natchitoches, LA, followed by a Rosary at 10:00 AM and Mass at 10:30 AM. He will be laid to rest next to his parents, James and Dorothy Rachal Metoyer at Cloutierville Catholic Cemetery in Cloutierville, LA.
Mickey's presence will be sorely missed, and he will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
