Mickie was born on October 8, 1951, in Scottsbluff, to Perry “Pat” and June (Johnson) Martindale.
She met and married Jim Schwartzkopf, and together the couple welcomed two children, Mark and Jamie.
Mickie previously worked as a sales coordinator for Lockwood. She also assisted her husband for many years with his construction company operations.
Mickie taught kindness with her constant gift-giving and other nurturing qualities. She was the rock of the family and welcomed everyone with an open heart. Her hobbies included tending to her award-winning yard, planting numerous flowers each year. She especially enjoyed this hobby with her husband, Jim. She also liked doing puzzles and crafts with her granddaughters and was faithful to keep in contact with friends and family. Mickie loved everyone she met and consistently wanted to talk about “you”, not her.
She was well known for her beautiful smile and upbeat attitude. Her favorite hobby of all was gift-giving. She never forgot a birthday and eagerly looked forward to bringing presents to her circle of friends and family members. Mickie enjoyed the classic cars that she and Jim collected and worked on over the years. In her younger days, she was active playing racquetball, riding her bicycle, and taking walks with loved ones. She always made time to offer a cold drink along with a kind smile and had a special way of making everyone feel loved! Her departure has touched many. Heaven has truly gained one of the best.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Jim Schwartzkopf; son, Mark (Jolie) Schwartzkopf; daughter, Jamie (David) Dauphin; grandchildren, James and Justin Schwartzkopf, Jessica Deer, Jodi Deer, and Dane Dauphin; along with extended family members and friends.
Mickie was preceded in death by her mother, June (Johnson) Martindale; father, Pat Martindale; step-mother, Bertha Martindale; and brother, Terry Martindale.
