Migna Y. Lanzo, 67, of Johnston, passed away peacefully Monday, June 9th, surrounded by her loved ones. She was one of fifteen children born in Puerto Rico to the late Blasina Marquez and Isidro Lanzo. She is survived by her five children, Brenda Liz Pabon, Sherly Joan Pabon, Fernando DeJesus Jr., Aneliz Lazzareschi, RN, BSN, and Frances Yaileen DeJesus; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and multiple brothers and sisters.
A social butterfly, Migna had a passion for music, and music was more than just a pastime. Music was a powerful force that gave her comfort throughout her life and lengthy battle with Alzheimer's and Dementia. Whether she was swaying to the rhythm or getting lost in the melodies, her love for dance was evident.
Migna enjoyed cooking and always welcomed those who needed it into her home. Even as her Alzheimer's progressed, she continued to find joy in nurturing the children alongside the Pastor at the Templo Manantial De Gracia. Above all, Migna was always a caregiver, a nurturing presence in her community, and consistently ready to lend a helping hand.
To all who had the pleasure of knowing Migna, you likely have many wonderful memories of her vibrant spirit, spontaneous dance sessions, laughter, and warmth that created ever-lasting connections. Remember those times and let them bring a smile to your face, just like Migna would have wanted.
