Mikael James Lee, born on May 11, 1999, in Sandy, Utah, passed away on March 3, 2026, in Keene, Texas. He was a beacon of kindness, intelligence, and humor, touching the lives of many.
Mikael was known for his analytical mind and quirky sense of humor, which brought joy to those around him. His gentle spirit and compassionate nature made him a cherished friend and family member. An Eagle Scout from Troop 48 in Olympia, Washington, he embodied the values of leadership, service, and perseverance that scouting instills.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Russell Lee. Mikael is survived by his beloved mother, Kathleen Lee, and her fiancé, David Wellman, who served as Mikael's Scoutmaster and a significant figure in his life. Mikael also leaves behind his life partner, Elizabeth Cortes; his stepdaughter, Sofia Nicole; his grandparents, Leonard E. Lee and Sarah Lee; his beloved kitties, Severous and Octavia, and numerous family members and loving friends.
As we remember Mikael, we celebrate the unique individual he was, the love he shared, and the kindness he spread. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
