Mike Aspey

One of our finest! I remember him playing Don Henley’s “The Boys of Summer” a lot in the 80’s. Rest in peace Mike.

Words cannot express how sad that I am about your loss! Many years ago, we were on the St. Joseph Police Department together. Later in both of our lives, we would be on the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office together! I was honored to call you a friend and a brother! R.I.P. my brother! See you on the other side!

Shocked! Have known Mike since the late 80's. Just talked to him and Brenda in great length at Walmart recently and at church. I was encouraging to him that he was able to get better, sharing with him all my physical experiences I've gone thru negatively over the past few years and even telling him that he and I would play racquetball with ea. other once he got better. He said those days are over with so I suggested marbles, jacks or tidily-winks, which he said would be about his speed these...

I met Mike in the early 1980’s when he was a St. Joseph Police Officer and I was a Buchanan County Traffic Prosecutor. Mike was one of the most professional and trustworthy people I’ve had the privilege to know.

Later when he became a Buchanan County Circuit Court Bailiff he was always willing to assist whenever and wherever he was needed. Since he was the bailiff for the Presiding Judge, I good-naturedly referred to him as The King of the Bailiffs.
