Mike Clayton

Mr. James Michael “Mike” Clayton, 74 of Sugar Valley, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

Mike was born in Gilmer County, Georgia, on December 7, 1949, the son of the late France Clayton Sr. and Julia Todd Clayton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard Clayton, and Bob Clayton; his sister, Sandra Clayton Massingill. He attended Valley Point School and was a carpenter by trade.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Hilley Clayton, of the residence; son and daughter-in-law Jason and Amanda Clayton; grandchildren Jasmine and Korbin Hobbs and Adam Clayton; great-grandson Ezzra Hobbs; sister Faye Clayton Stephens; brothers Rev. France (Junior) Clayton, and his wife Shelia and Rev. Ben Clayton and his wife Beverly; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The funeral for Mike Clayton will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. France (Junior) Clayton and Rev. Ben Clayton officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Jason Clayton, Lee Mabe, Jonathan Jacobo, Korbin Hobbs, Ben Guider, and Kenny Gallman.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 21st, between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home.
